Signor Strisce’s (fka Sterling) introduction to the world of making music came via saxophone & piano lessons as a child. Being a keen radio listener & follower of the growing hip-hop scene was followed by discovering electronic music. The Extra Beats program on WOXY 97X FM in Oxford, Ohio exposed the growing world of electronic music. Getting a job at the independent record store Looney T Birds in the same town allowed this love of electronic music to flourish. The late 90s saw Signor Strisce co-found the Life 9 DJ collective along with Reasonbeing & Mr. Pressure where they played various small parties in the Midwest. Buying a used Roland TR-505 enabled dabbling in beat making. 2004 saw the start of his own productions with a PC based DAW. In 2020 the Bureau of Esoteric Research label was co-founded w Reasonbeing. Then in 2021 Signor Strisce branched out into Embers Breaks/Jungle, winning Tune of the Year as well as receiving airplay from Kebab Shop Sound System, Bam Bam Radio & Bass Scoops Radio.
